DAY 1 - Sunday - Departure

Your Exotic Journey to Incredible India begins as you depart from New York, Newark or Chicago aboard your Air India flight for Delhi.
If you prefer to travel from any other city or any other airline, we will provide arrangements according to your requirements.

DAY 2 - Monday - Delhi

Arrive Delhi airport. A representative from Exotic Journeys will meet you outside the Immigration & Custom / Baggage claim area and escort you to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)

DAY 3 - Tuesday - Delhi

Afternoon City tour visiting colorful bazaar “Chandni Chowk”, Memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and Jama Masjid followed by sound & light show at the Red Fort.

DAY 4 - Wednesday- Delhi - Palace On Wheels

The morning sightseeing tour includes Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Later in the afternoon transfer to Safdarjung Railway Station to board Palace on Wheels and leave for Jaipur.

DAY 5 - Thursday - Jaipur - Palace On Wheels

Morning excursion to Amber Fort with elephant rides. Afternoon City tour Visiting City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and local bazaars.

DAY 6 - Friday - Sawai Madhopur - Chittaurgarh - Palace On Wheels

One can almost sense a life of the wilderness, as the Palace on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After breakfast on board a visit is arranged to the Ranthambore National Park, wherein are located the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of 392 sq.kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, rattle snake, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here. Upon return to the Palace on Wheels, you leave for Chittaurgarh, when one gets an opportunity to watch the colorful countryside passing by in the daylight. After lunch on board you are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and valor; scars of battles lost and won ... thrice-besieged, Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more.

DAY 7 - Saturday - Udaipur - Palace On Wheels

Arrive in Udaipur, the Lake City in the Morning. It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughals, in 1559 A.D. Perhaps the two most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble Palaces - the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola. After lunch a visit to City Palace is exhilarating.
In the evening, visit the crystal gallery. Later return to Palace on Wheels by an AC coach and proceed to Jaiselmer. Dinner on board.

DAY 8 - Sunday - Jaiselmer - Palace On Wheels

Arrive Jaiselmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156 A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji - ki - haveli, Patwon - ki - haveli and Salim Singh - ki - haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill. After lunch on board, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea. Enjoy the dinner and the cultural programs at a hotel in Jaisalmer. Return to Palace on Wheels by an AC coach and proceed to Jodhpur at night.

DAY 9 - Monday - Jodhpur - Palace On Wheels

This morning the Palace on wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within fort - Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble. After lunch at a royal Palace hotel, return to the Palace on Wheels. Depart for Bharatpur. Dinner on board.

DAY 10 - Tuesday - Bharatpur - Agra & Taj Mahal - Palace On Wheels

Visit Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, the largest concentration of exotic birds in Asia and nesting ground of thousands of egrets, Siberian cranes, waterfowls and other rare species. Proceed to Fatehpur Sikri - the red sandstone Mughal palatial complex. You will visit some fabulous palaces and a mosque dedicated to muslim saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. Transfer to Agra and check into the hotel. Afternoon city sightseeing tour of Agra visiting Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and local bazaars.

DAY 11 - Wednesday - Delhi - Khajuraho

After breakfast, disembark Palace On Wheels in Delhi. Transfer to airport and fly to Khajuraho. The Chandela temples are among the most creative examples of temple architecture. The theme of the intricately carved statues is women; reflective, playful and amorous. Visit the World Heritage designated temple.

DAY 12 - Thursday - Khajuraho - Varanasi

Morning free to explore the world famous temples on your own. Fly to Varanasi in the afternoon. Varanasi - the city of eternal salvation and freedom from rebirth. Visit various temples, Aurangzeb Mosque and Sarnath where Buddha preached his maiden sermon unfolding paths leading to the end of sorrow, attainment of inner peace and enlightenment.

DAY 13 - Friday - Varanasi

Cruise the river Ganges at dawn. City tour and excursion to Sarnath in the afternoon.

DAY 14 - Saturday - Varanasi - Kathmandu

Fly to Kathmandu, Nepal in the afternoon.

DAY 15 - Sunday - Kathmandu

Visit Patan - the city of arts and artists and Bhadgaon - the medieval capital famous for its Golden gate, Palace of 55 windows. In the afternoon visit Swayambhunath, Hanuman Dhoka the historic seat of royalty, Temple of living Goddess, the Royal Palace, and Pushupatinath, the pagoda style temple with gilded roof and silver doors.

Fly to Delhi in the evening.

Depart for New York, Newark or Chicago in the morning. Arrive in the afternoon.
