Aurangabad gets its name from the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who also gave the city its two famous landmarks - the beautiful Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, also known as the black Taj Mahal, and the Panchakki, a massive water wheel. On the outskirts of the city are ancient Buddhist caves.
