DAY 1-SUN-DEPARTURE
Depart from New York, Newark, Chicago or Los Angeles for Delhi in the evening. Departure details from other cities are available upon request.
DAY 2-MON-DELHI
Arrive Delhi. Meeting and transfer to the hotel.
DAY 3-TUE-DELHI
Afternoon City tour visiting colorful bazaar “Candini Chowk”, Memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and Jama Masjid followed by sound & light show at the Red Fort.
DAY 4-WED-PALACE ON WHEELS
The morning Sightseeing tour includes Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar. Later in the afternoon, board Palace on Wheels and leave for Jaipur.
DAY 5-THU-JAIPUR
Morning excursion to Amber Fort with elephant rides. Afternoon City tour Visiting City Palace, Observatory, Palace of Winds and local bazaars.
DAY 6-FRI-JAISELMER- PALACE ON WHEELS
One of the last bastions of princely India, Jaiselmer is famous for the fort and colorful mansion known as havelis. The stone carver’s created some masterpieces with delicate pavilions, screen windows and beautiful balconies. After city tour you will take a camel safari to golden sand dunes. In the evening Attend a cultural show with dinner. Depart for Jodhpur.
DAY 7-SAT-JODHPUR- PALACE ON WHEELS
Jodhpur’s attractions include Mehrangarh Fort, luxurious Palaces. Jaswant Thada, a collection of royal white marble cenotaphs and Umaid Bhavan palace.
DAY 8-SUN-RANTHAMBHORE
Ranthambhore National Park- a Tiger Project Reserve is considered the best in India for observing and photographing the tiger. The park is located amidst the imposing 10th century fort with lush vegetation and waterfalls. After wildlife viewing depart for Chittaurgarh. Chittaurgarh Fort, queen Padmini’s Palace and Meera temple.
DAY9-MON-CHITTAURGARH/UDAIPUIR PALACE ON WHEELS
City tour visiting City Palace, sahelion Ki Bari, Lake Pichola, Lake Palace Hotel and Jagdish Temple.
DAY 10-TUE-BHARATPUR/TAJ MAHAL
Visit Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, the largest concentration of exotic birds in Asia and nesting ground of thousands of egrets, Siberian cranes, waterfowls and other rare species. Proceed top Fatehpur Sikri-the now deserted capital of built by emperor Akber. You will visit some fabulous Palaces and a mosque dedicated to Muslim saint, sheikh Salim Chisti. Transfer to Agra and check into the hotel. Afternoon city sightseeing tour of Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and local bazaars.
DAY 11-WED-DELHI-KHAJURAHO
Arrive Delhi and disembark from the train, after breakfast fly to Khajuraho. The Chandela temples are among the most creative examples of temple architecture. The theme of the intricately carved statues is women; reflective, playful and amorous. Visit the World Heitage designated temple.
DAY 12-THU-VARANASI
Varanasi- the city of eternal salvation and freedom from rebirth. Visit various temples, Aurangzeb Mosque and Sarnath where Buddha preached his maiden sermon unfolding paths leading to the end of sorrow, attainment of inner peace and enlightenment.
DAY 13-FRI- VARANASI
Morning boat ride. AM city tour P.M. visit Sarnath. Overnight at Varanasi.
DAY 14-SAT-VARANASI-KATHMANDU
Fly to Kathmandu.
DAY 15-SUN-KATHMANDU
Visit Patan-the city of arts and artists and Bhadgaon-the medieval capital famous for its Golden gate, Palace of 55 windows. In the afternoon visit Swayambhunath, Hanuman Dhoka the historic seat of royalty, Temple of living Goddess, the Royal Palace, and Pushupatinath, the pagoda style temple with gilded roof and silver doors.
DAY 16-MON-DELHI
Fly to Delhi in the evening.
DAY 17-TUE-HOMEBOUND
Depart for New York, Newark, Chicago or Los Angeles in the morning. Arrive in the afternoon.
