DAY 1 - Departure
Your Exotic Journey to Myanmar (Burma) begins as you depart from the USA to Bangkok, Thailand.
DAY 2 - Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok. Meeting and transfer to hotel.
DAY 3 - Yongon
Enjoy a day of leisure or travel around Bangkok An evening flight will take you to Yongon.
DAY 4 - Yongon
The capital city of Myanmar has one of the wonders of the world, The Shwedagon Pagoda. The 2,500-year-old great spires stand in the center of a cluster of shrines. It is encrusted with thousands of rubies, diamonds, sapphires and topaz. Visit Shwedagon Pagoda and colossal Reclining Buddha.
Day 5 - Yongon
Visit the gilded Sule Pagoda, National Museum and local bazaars.
DAY 6 - Heho - Pindaya
Fly to Heho and travel to Pindaya. Visit Pindaya Caves, unique for thousands of Buddha images left there by pilgrims over several centuries.
DAY 7 - Taunggyi / Inle Lake
Morning drive to Nyaung Shew and board a boat to Nampan and check in to Golden Island Cottages. Inle Lake is outrageously picturesque and known for its unique leg-rowers, floating villages and colorful markets. You will spend the day cruising the lake, visit a village house, handloom weaving and Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda.
DAY 8 - Mandalay
Morning is at leisure. In the afternoon, fly to Mandalay, the last capital of Burmese kingdom and the cultural and commercial center of Myanmar.
DAY 9 - Mandalay
Travel to Amarpura to visit Mahagandayon where thousands of monks live and study and Bagaya Monastery famous for superb collection of Buddha statues. Also visit Kuthodaw Pagoda with world famous marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures and Mandalay Hill for sunset.
DAY 10 - Mandalay
A morning boat excursion will take you to Mingun where you will visit massive Mingun Bell and Hsinbyume Paya. In the afternoon visit Nanmyint Watch Tower- the leaning tower of Ava, Maha Aungmye Bonzan and Bargayar monasteries and Sagaing Hills.
DAY 11 - Bagan
The boat journey on Ayeyarwaddy River will take you to the ancient capital, Bagan. Once there were 5,000 magnificent Stupas and Pagodas built between 11th and l3th century. Presently the 2,000 remaining temples make it the richest archaeological site in Asia. A panoramic view of this timeless wonderland at sunset, atop a pagoda, will fill you with awe.
DAY 12 - Bagan
Visit some of the famous shrines including Ananda temple, Shwezigon Pagodas, Thatbyinnyu and Sulamani temples, lacquer craftsmens workshops and Bupaya Pagoda to watch sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River.
DAY 13 - Bagan
Today you will take a boat excursion to Kyauk Gu U Min temple built into the side of a cliff and famous for its sandstone reliefs. Also visit the meditation retreat Kyat Kan cave and 13th century murals at Nandamanya temples.
DAY 14 - Bagan / Mt. Popa
Morning excursion to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano with a shrine dedicated to animist spirits. The shrine is reached by climbing 777 steps!
DAY 15 - Yongon
Today you will fly back to Yongon Balance of the day will be at leisure for independent activities.
DAY 16 - Bangkok
Fly to Bangkok. Meeting and transfer to hotel.
DAY 17 - Homebound
Depart on your onward journey.
